Over 50 technicians and producers took part in the technical day dedicated to Crea 105 apples organized by Vivai F.lli Zanzi at its Ferrara facility on October 20th.

"Thank you all for being here, it shows there is interest for the new apple varieties. Crea 105 is a red apple variety we have been testing for various years and is proving very interesting," started Enrico Zanzi.

The flesh is crunchy, fairly juicy, rather firm and with a good sweet yet acidic flavor. The harvesting window is rather wide.

"Production is homogeneous with a low tendency to alternate between years. The management is easier compared with other varieties of the same period and the harvesting window is wide," illustrated Gianluca Baruzzi from Crea.

CREA 105 is a selection that was obtained in 1989 by the then CRA-FRF (former Istituto Sperimentale per la Frutticoltura - SOP in Forlì, now CREA Centro di ricerca Olivicoltura, Frutticoltura e Agrumicoltura) a cross between Forum and Lady Williams. It was selected in 1997 in Magliano di Forlì (FC). Community design application no. 20183478 of 11/01/2019. Breeders: Walther Faedi, Mauro Bergamaschi, Gianluca Baruzzi.
