Vegetables from Belarus are in great demand abroad. Some 300,000 tons of Belarusian potatoes are exported (this is 30% of the total production). The export geography is vast: Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Moldova. The main market is Russia. Every year the variety composition is improved. About 180 varieties of potatoes are included in the state register, 44 of them are domestic varieties. The assortment of vegetable crops has been significantly expanded.
In total, this year, it is planned to produce more than one million tons of potatoes, about 600,000 tons of vegetables and almost 230,000 tons of fruits and berries. This amount will allow to fully provide the market with domestic products, lay down stabilization funds and provide the processing industry with raw materials.
