Cucumbers have sharply increased in price, possibly signaling an impending rise in vegetable prices. The wholesale price per kilogram of cucumbers surged by more than 130%, from 0.84 euros to 2 euros within a week, according to the official price list of "Moetzet HaTzmaḥim."
In the agricultural produce market, it is believed that this is just the beginning, and an increase in prices for many other vegetables is expected in the coming weeks. According to the price list of the Council for Plant Production, a kilogram of onions costs 1.3 euros, zucchinis are priced at 1.45 euros per kilogram in the wholesale market, red peppers cost 2.05 euros per kilogram, and greenhouse tomatoes are priced at 1.5 euros.
