Kantar reported: "Aldi's sales stepped up by 3.1%, with its market share at 9.8%. Fellow discounter Lidl grew by 8.8% to capture a 7.8% share of the market, helped by a 24% rise in sales of baked goods and a 11% jump in fruit, vegetables and salads. Iceland grew sales by 2.2%. Waitrose holds a 4.5% share, with sales up by 3.9%, while Co-op takes 5.5% of the market".

Dino Polska reports revenue growth of 29.6% in FY 2023
Dino Polska generated revenue of PLN25.7bln (€5.97bln) in its full financial year 2023, registering an increase of 29.6% compared to 2022. The company generated around 40% of its revenue from the sales of fresh products, especially fruit and vegetables, bread and the fresh meat produced by the Agro-Rydzyna meat processing plant, it said in a statement.

Ocado Group Plc's online grocery business saw higher sales as it lowered prices to attract British shoppers emerging from a generational cost-of-living crisis. M&S reports that its early-season Jersey Royal potatoes are being packaged in 100% recyclable paper in hopes of removing an estimated one million pieces of plastic from the product line in the first year. The paper-packaged potatoes will now be available in 75 M&S Foodhalls across the United Kingdom.

US: Trader Joe's just increased the price of a banana for the first time in more than 20 years
Food prices have gone a bit bananas - and that includes a famously priced 19-cent fruit at Trader Joe's. The snack-heavy grocer told CNN that it recently increased the price of the banana to 23 cents, a more than 20% increase.
