PRAN initiates annual mango collection in Bangladesh

PRAN, a leading agro-processor in Bangladesh, has initiated its annual mango collection and pulping operations. The activities, aimed at producing a variety of mango-based products such as drinks, juice, and bars, commenced on June 1 at the PRAN Agro Ltd factory in Natore and Barind Industrial Park in Rajshahi. The company has a procurement target of 50,000 tonnes of mangoes for the current season.

Roknuzzaman Rubel, Assistant General Manager at Barind Industrial Park, mentioned that mangoes are being sourced from several districts including Rajshahi, Natore, and Chapainawabganj, prioritizing Guti mangoes initially, followed by Ashwani varieties. Kamruzzaman Kamal, Director of Marketing at PRAN-RFL Group, highlighted the use of aseptic technology in their plants for pulp production, stating, "Pulp is being produced in our plants using aseptic technology. The advantages of this technology are to preserve the pulps for two years, maintaining its taste and freshness without the need for preservative. We are manufacturing mango juice and drinks throughout the year using this preserved pulp." PRAN's mango juice and drinks are exported to 145 countries globally.
