Hendrix Fruit & Vegetables and P. Seelen Grubbenvorst join forces:

"Selling more volume per customer through a wide product range"

Hendrix Fruit & Vegetables BV and P. Seelen Grubbenvorst BV signed a cooperation agreement on 8 July, ratifying the establishment of the new company Hendrix & van Leeuwen BV. Jeroen Hendrix, owner and director of the company of the same name, will become managing director of this new constellation. He will be assisted by brothers Thomas and Jordan van Leeuwen as partners. Although the team of Hendrix Fruit & Vegetables BV will move to the premises of P. Seelen Grubbenvorst BV, both companies will continue to operate as separate companies, they stressed.

Marc Seelen, current managing director of P. Seelen Grubbenvorst BV, is thus taking a step back. "The lack of a successor was the main motive for Marc to opt for this construction, in which guaranteeing continuity and further modernisation are paramount," the cooperating parties reveal in a statement. Purchasers of P. Seelen Grubbenvorst BV will soon also be able to use the webshop already used by Hendrix Fruit & Vegetables BV.

Combined sales, wider product range
Synergy effects are expected, in view of combined sales structures and a wider assortment, says general manager Jeroen Hendrix. "P. Seelen Grubbenvorst BV has long been a specialist in open field vegetables such as leeks, courgettes and greenhouse vegetables such as tomatoes, as well as regional strawberries and asparagus. Hendrix Fruit & Vegetables BV, on the other hand, is strong in the field of mixed pallets including greenhouse vegetables, open field vegetables, exotics and cresses. Therefore, the starting point is not only to steadily expand our international customer base in the coming years, but also, precisely by offering a wide range, to sell more volume per customer."
