Recent months saw a spike in prices due to factors like insecurity and farmer-herder conflicts, affecting farming activities and leading to displacement. However, prices have started to decline from a peak of N180,000 per 65kg bag to N45,000, attributed to a bumper harvest. Dealers, including Faruq Rabilu, note the market is currently flooded with produce, suggesting a temporary window for buyers before potential scarcity. The price fluctuation is also linked to hoarding practices amidst economic challenges.
