"We want to be part of our partner's success with their sales in China"

Growers and exporters in Chile are getting ready for a bumper cherry export season to the key markets of China and the rest of Asia. Camila Borquez Maldifassi, owner and founder of Fresh Produce Trading based in Chile, looks forward to the coming 2024/25 cherry season and to attend the show in Hong Kong, "We hope to have a fruitful upcoming summer season in China with our partners FruitCeo, were we are focused on cherries and other fresh produce such as stone fruit and grapes."

Fresh Produce Trading is a company based in Chile that act as a local representative for businesses with strong partner companies in both China and India. "Our extensive network of local distributors allows us to forge strong, long-term partnerships on behalf of our clients. These relationships are essential for consistent market presence and expansion, providing a solid foundation for growth. In Asia, we are actually working with Novafresco from India and their partner company in China FruitCeo," states Borquez Maldifassi.

Novafresco is an import export company, which exports under the name Faina International, "We have substantially increased the volume from Chile over the past few years. The products we deal with the most are gala apples and kiwis from Chile. Since the beginning of August we are loading every week pallets of blueberries from Peru that have had excellent reception and results in the market. In apples and kiwis, our intention is to double the volumes we did last season, increasing with our regular suppliers and adding new ones to the list. India is becoming an interesting country to explore new options, and of course to grow in that market you need a good reliable customer and Novafresco is without a doubt an excellent alternative," explains Borquez Maldifassi.

She says in China, they look forward to the next season. "FruitCeo is not new in the Chilean market, they've been importing from Chile for a while and what we are looking for is to grow systemically with our suppliers. We establish these long-lasting relationships built upon support and commitment. FruitCeo makes sales in the Zhengzhou and in the Shanghai markets through its sales company Xining. Our growth strategy is to be as competitive as possible in both of the markets that we serve, to be quick in the liquidations and be as close as possible to our suppliers by giving feedback and prompt information on sales, quality and market information. Our intention is to arrive this season with at least 70 containers of cherries between regular suppliers and new ones. Our growth is based not only in volume but in the establishment of solid and strong future relations."

She says the early projections for Chile's upcoming cherry season are largely positive. "We know that the projections are anticipating a prosperous cherry season and we want to be part of our partners' success in the sales in China. Markets are constantly evolving, and staying ahead requires continuous monitoring and adaptation. Fresh Produce Trading can provide ongoing market analysis and feedback, allowing international companies to adjust their strategies as needed to capitalize on emerging trends and opportunities."

Borquez Maldifassi is looking hoping that the show in Hong Kong, "will bring new opportunities and excellent commercial options, this is why FruitCeo is investing in our presence and marketing in the Fair with our booth number 5J15. We expect this one to be a meeting point for everybody interested in adding a new receiver in China."
