Interpom 2024:

'Fueling innovation and resilience in the fast-changing potato sector'

Interpom, a leading trade fair for the entire potato chain, will take place on 24, 25 and 26 November 2024 at Kortrijk Xpo in Belgium. Having reached its maximum capacity, Interpom stands as a primary trade platform for professionals interested in staying updated with the latest market trends, price changes, and innovations in the potato sector.

For the upcoming event, organisers are once again expecting to welcome more than 20,000 visitors hailing from 50 different countries, which will focus on the theme 'Energizing a potato industry in transition'.

Interpom is recognized as a highly specialized indoor trade fair in Europe, encompassing the entire potato chain from cultivation through to processing and marketing. The event showcases a wide and specialized selection of products, machinery, services, and digital technologies catering to the entire chain.

Growers, contractors, processors, packers, purchasers and traders of fresh and processed potatoes from all over Europe are visitors to Interpom, but the trade fair is also attracting more and more visitors from other continents. No fewer than 316 exhibitors from 14 different countries have registered to participate in the event.

Energizing a potato industry in transition
The potato sector is currently facing significant challenges as a result of climate change, stricter regulations, increasing disease pressure, fluctuating energy costs and the increasingly urgent need to make operations more sustainable.

The pace at which these changes are taking place calls for rapid adaptation, deploying new technologies and investing in the sector.

The Belgian potato sector is known across the world for its adaptability, its efficiency and its ability to think far ahead. This year, Interpom wishes to highlight the incredible energy that exists across our sector.

Under the theme 'Energizing a Potato Industry in Transition', Interpom aims to showcase a wide range of innovations and developments, including the 'Innovation Tour', with a view to providing solutions to help a sector that has now entered an accelerated transition phase.

Cooperation throughout the chain is key to maintaining a resilient potato sector and turning challenges into new opportunities.

Revamped seminars: innovation, interactivity and expertise
The seminars held as part of the event are all about sharing knowledge. Whereas previous editions focused on powerful presentations around a broad range of topics, this time we will take a different approach. Belgapom, the Belgian potato trade and processing industry association, will be in charge of putting together the programme and presenting insights, opinions and discussions through inspiring panel discussions on topical issues.

To this end, Belgapom will call on its extensive network of experts from the field, academia, civil society, research and politics. The programme will be announced in early October.
