Kazakhstan's plum season in full swing: regional price variations

Plum season is in full swing across Kazakhstan, with prices varying by region.

As of September 19, the cheapest plums are found in Taldykorgan and Turkestan at 0.74-0.93 euros per kilogram. In Karaganda and Jezkazgan, prices range from 0.84-0.96 euros, with larger varieties reaching 1.77 euros.

Almaty and Astana residents pay between 1.02-1.28 euros, while the most expensive plums are in Aktobe (1.30-1.67 euros) and Aktau, where prices can hit 1.86 euros per kilogram.

Plums are in high demand for winter preparations, with many using them for compotes, jams, and dried varieties.
