The German company Frigotec GmbH continues to expand internationally with its proven Softripe ripening technology for bananas and exotic fruit. "Chile is the 11th country to become another interesting market in which the patented ground-breaking Softripe technology is being used successfully," says Frigotec Managing Director and continues: "At the end of July this year, five Softripe ripening chambers for bananas and avocados went into operation for a local Chilean fruit service provider. The investment was made in cooperation with with a leading retailer to significantly improve their banana and avocado quality." Softripe enables automated ripening in which an AI-based ripening algorithm dynamically and according to the needs of each fruit load ripens it biologically ideal way. The result is improved fruit quality and fruit health with an extended shelf-life compared to conventional systems."
"Our customers were convinced and impressed by the first ripening results and positive changes in sales figures have already been noted in the shops and will continue to be monitored. With this success, we hope and expect that this success will lead to a further spread of the technology in South America, after this technology was established early on in Brazil with over 120 ripening chambers for bananas"", Wirth concludes.
Shortly after the commissioning of the first Softripe system in Chile, Frigotec was able to announce another ripening chamber order specifically for a local avocado producer. "We are proud to be able to supply this leading avocado producer who is known for its high avocado quality and exports worldwide. This investment decision should lead to further projects for their customers and importers in many countries", adds Wirth.
