Emergent Cold Latin America (Emergent Cold LatAm) is enhancing its El Olivo facility in Maipú, Santiago, Chile. The expansion will increase the facility's capacity to 32,000 pallet positions, utilizing ASRS technology. This move aims to boost efficiency, power utilization, and safety in food product handling, marking a significant advancement in the sector's logistics infrastructure.
Joaquín Del Campo, Managing Director for the Pacific Region at Emergent Cold LatAm, emphasized the project's role in bolstering logistics infrastructure and introducing innovative solutions in Chile. He highlighted the importance of automation in improving operational efficiency and reinforcing the company's leadership in temperature-controlled food logistics in Latin America.
The development is part of Emergent Cold LatAm's strategic growth in Chile, including the expansion of its Talcahuano warehouse, now the country's largest cold storage facility. Additionally, the company's San Pedro de La Paz warehouse has been distinguished as the first in the world to achieve EDGE Zero Carbon certification for sustainable operations in the temperature-controlled food storage industry.
