Denizli has initiated its quince harvest season, with producers in regions such as Pınarkent and Kocadere starting last week. The yield has been reported as favorable across various areas within the Pamukkale district. The price for quinces aimed at the export market has risen from $0.44 to $0.73 per kilogram compared to the previous year, according to Erhan Cayli.
Denizli's conducive soil and climate conditions have been highlighted as ideal for quince cultivation, with an annual production of 6 thousand tons over 500 hectares. The majority of this produce is destined for export markets, including the European Union and Russia, at a wholesale price of 16 TL per kilogram. Post-export selection, the remaining quinces are distributed to jam and fruit juice manufacturers at varying prices. Cayli also emphasized the importance of maintaining high-quality production and diversifying agricultural practices by incorporating other fruit species alongside quince.
