Peru exports first blueberries from Chancay port to Shanghai

The inaugural export of Peruvian blueberries from the port of Chancay, destined for Shanghai, China, has been announced by Qali, under the Agrícola Cerro Prieto (ACP) umbrella. These blueberries were cultivated in the Santa Rosa irrigation zone, located north of Lima, where Qali manages over 150 hectares dedicated to this crop.

ACP emphasized the economic significance of this shipment, noting that the value of the exported blueberries surpasses the cost of an imported car from China by more than fourfold. This milestone is seen as a testament to the quality of Peruvian blueberries and their potential to contribute to the nation's economy by accessing new and distant markets.

"The value of our shipments, which far exceeds that of other products, reaffirms us as a benchmark of quality in international markets. We remain committed to our mission of feeding the world for a better life," ACP stated. The company also highlighted the broader economic implications of this export, suggesting it symbolizes the hard work and aspirations of Peru as it seeks to expand its presence on the global stage.

ACP expressed pride in its role in international trade, underscoring the journey of its blueberries to Shanghai as a reflection of the dedication of its workforce and the richness of Peruvian soil.
