In a strategic move to elevate Odisha's agricultural export status, the Directorate of Horticulture, Government of Odisha, in collaboration with Palladium Consulting, has inked 11 memorandums of understanding (MoUs) with private sector exporters. This event, part of Krushi Odisha 2025, was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo among other dignitaries. The initiative is set to enhance the export and value addition of the state's fresh produce, aiming to provide local farmers with improved market access, fair pricing, and international visibility.
Krushi Odisha 2025, witnessing participation from nearly 10,000 stakeholders including farmers, women-led self-help groups, farmer producer organizations, and agri-entrepreneurs, functioned as a dynamic exchange hub for knowledge and innovation. The event featured 13 technical sessions and over 200 stalls, showcasing cutting-edge technology and products, thereby reinforcing Odisha's commitment to agricultural transformation.
The launch of the Amala Utkala crop information booklet was a highlight of the event, offering a detailed guide on Odisha's crop varieties, production statistics, and market linkages, aimed at empowering farmers with vital information for better export opportunities. Additionally, the event emphasized sustainable farming practices, celebrating progressive farmers and organizations across Odisha's 30 districts. Sessions focusing on the development of organic commodity value chains and the promotion of climate-resilient horticulture through ag-tech adoption underscored the importance of sustainable and market-led organic production systems.
