The Almond Board of Australia (ABA) published its December position report on February 14, 2025. The document outlines the volumes and destinations of Australia's almond exports, akin to the Almond Board of California's reports.
In December 2024, Australian exporters dispatched nearly 14,000 MT, marking a record for that month. This elevates the crop-year-to-date total to 158,500 MT, exceeding previous seasons' totals with two months still to be reported. This volume also surpasses the reported production for the 2024/25 crop year for the second consecutive year, a reversal from prior years where production exceeded shipments.
China has emerged as the primary destination, receiving 75,000 MT, a 130% increase over the previous year. India has imported nearly 20,000 MT, a 10% rise from last year. These increases contrast with lower volumes from the USA, with Australia's exports accounting for part of the shift.
