At the Salon International de l'Agriculture yesterday, Maison Thiriet, a leader in frozen foods, and the Bonduelle group, alongside the OPLVERT and OPLINORD producers' organizations, formalized a groundbreaking partnership. Their goal is to establish a supply chain for vegetables of French origin guaranteed to be free of pesticide residues. "This four-way agreement reflects a shared commitment to promoting French agricultural expertise, providing consumers with products that meet higher quality standards, and ensuring fair compensation for producers," Maison Thiriet stated in a press release.

1,800 Products—85% of French origin
A French family business since 1902, Maison Thiriet manufactures a diverse range of sweet and savory frozen products across its workshops in the Vosges, Drôme, Lot, and Yonne regions. Of the 1,800 products in its catalog, 85% are either sourced from France or produced domestically. In June 2024, Maison Thiriet took a significant step by signing a multi-year agreement with Bonduelle, ensuring an exclusive supply of French vegetables with no pesticide residues. This contract, which guarantees fixed volumes and prices for at least three years, has already led to the introduction of eight new products on Maison Thiriet shelves—including green beans, peas, cauliflower florets, and courgettes.

A stronger commitment through a four-way agreement
Building on this initial collaboration, Maison Thiriet has expanded the partnership into a four-party contract, bringing in the OPLVERT and OPLINORD producer organizations. This direct cooperation with farmers and Bonduelle strengthens quality controls and enhances monitoring throughout the production process.
The agreement includes:
- Systematic crop analyses conducted by an accredited independent laboratory, testing for over 400 pesticide molecules.
- Enhanced traceability, ensuring precise monitoring of crops and compliance with strict production standards.
- Range expansion, with new pesticide residue-free French vegetables—such as butter beans and butternut squash—set to join the lineup in the near future.
This strengthened commitment underscores Maison Thiriet's and Bonduelle's long-term dedication to sustainable agriculture, consumer health, and fair practices for French vegetable producers.
