In 2024, Kazakhstan exported 944,400 tons of fresh vegetables, marking a 50% increase compared to 2023. The country's agricultural sector earned over $100 million from these exports.
Key export growth areas
- Potato exports rose 37% to 563,900 tons. The largest shipment went to Uzbekistan (506,300 tons, +34.5%). Other key buyers included Tajikistan (34,400 tons, +37.7%), Turkmenistan (18,500 tons, +120%), Russia (4,400 tons, +110%), and Ukraine (188.5 tons).
- Onion and garlic exports nearly doubled, reaching 266,100 tons. The biggest importer was Pakistan (110,000 tons, 7 times more than in 2023). Other major buyers included Russia (97,400 tons, +50%), Uzbekistan (18,800 tons, -50%), Georgia (8,200 tons, +290%), Poland (7,200 tons, +310%), and UAE (4,400 tons, +880%).
- Tomato exports increased by 33.2% to 23,200 tons, shipped to Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and UAE.
- Carrots, turnips, beets, and radishes saw a 36.3% rise in exports, totaling 35,300 tons, with shipments to Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania.
- Eggplants, peppers, zucchini, mushrooms, and herbs exports grew 1.8 times, reaching 13,000 tons. These were exported to Russia, Belarus, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
