Representatives from Uzbekistan's Ministry of Agriculture recently met with experts from the Chilean Agricultural Research Institute (INIA) to discuss potential cooperation in the agricultural sector.
Key topics included the introduction of high-yield and disease-resistant grape and cherry varieties of Uzbekistan, drawing on Chile's experience. Both sides also explored opportunities for knowledge exchange between horticulturists, as well as organizing masterclasses and educational programs.
The discussions also covered advanced seedling cultivation technologies, including micropropagation methods in laboratory settings. These innovations could help Uzbekistan develop more resilient and productive fruit varieties.
As a result of the discussions, an agreement was reached to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation between Uzbekistan's National Center for Knowledge and Innovation in Agriculture, the country's Genomics Center, and INIA.
