Unseasonal rains damage crops in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar

Unseasonal rains impacted the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar district and city in India, affecting high-tech greenhouse operations. The rains commenced around 7:30 p.m., initially with mild showers, intensifying later with heavy rain and lightning. Areas such as Borgaon, Dhorkin, Khuldabad, and Gadana experienced these conditions.

In Sarola, Sillod taluka, lightning resulted in the death of a buffalo owned by Amol Gawali. Sillod City and the surrounding areas, including Bhavan, Lihakhedi, and Palod, reported rain on Tuesday afternoon and evening. The impact on crops was notable, with losses in onions, wheat, and mangoes.

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city experienced rain around 6 p.m., accompanied by a blackout. The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) managed to restore electricity swiftly, despite initial disruptions. The weather change provided temporary relief from heat, yet the agricultural sector faced challenges due to these conditions.
