Spain's main fruit and vegetable export markets are on the rise

Spain's main fruit and vegetable export markets started the year strong. In January, Spanish sales to Germany recorded a 14% year-on-year increase. Exports to France grew by 9%, to the United Kingdom by 8%, and to the Netherlands by 11%.

In total, Spanish fruit and vegetable exports reached 1,940 million euros in January, 11% more than in January 2024. The EU accounted for 81% of the total, i.e., 1,569 million euros. Germany, France, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands remain the main destinations.

In January, Spanish exports to Germany stood at 581 million euros (+14%), to France at 298 million euros (+9%), to the United Kingdom at 253 million euros, and to the Netherlands at 175 million euros (+11%).

Spain exported 1.2 million tons of fruits and vegetables in January, 7% more than in the same month last year. 1 million tons (83% of the total) were exported to other EU countries.

361,623 tons were sent to Germany (+9%), 361,623 tons to France (+9%), 143,589 tons to the United Kingdom (+6%), and 106,163 tons to the Netherlands (+7%), according to data from the Customs and Excise Department processed by Fepex.
