Spain: Fruit Audit, a weapon for exporters against abusive claims

Payments can be monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or at one time. We adapt to your needs.

Fruit Audit is a Spanish firm created by some of the most important fruit and vegetable exporter associations, such as Fepex, Coexphal, Afrucat, Freshuelva, Cajamar and Fruit Control, providing clients with a network of agronomists spread all over Europe and aimed at improving their products' competitiveness in the international market.

"In less than 24 hours, we can be anywhere in the continent to verify the quality of a shipment reaching its destination, as very often claims are made simply to obtain lower prices than agreed," explains Rubén Cervera, Manager of Fruit Audit. "With our reports, we aim to provide exporters with 'a weapon' to defend themselves against this abusive practice; additionally, our services speed up the legal procedures in case no agreement is reached, as exporters can use our documents for their insurance claims."

Fruit Audit offers three types of inspection: verification, used when claims are made at the final destination; unloading, which is a routine control of a given shipment so that the goods are accepted by the client; and lastly, supervision of goods destined for processing.

"Our goal is for any firms using this service to receive fewer unjustified claims, which can easily lead to a drop in prices for their products," affirms Rubén Cervera.

In addition to all this, Fruit Audit offers technical and visual information about the quality of the goods as soon as they reach their destination, "providing our clients with new ways of dialogue to enable them to improve their customer relationships."

The firm's network of inspector agronomists is based in Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom, although "in the long term, we would like to have agents in Russia, as many of our clients are interested in having Fruit Audit's service in that country, especially for stone fruit and citrus," he points out.
