Chisinau, Moldavia, 23rd-26th October 2013

Arrigoni will take part in Moldagrotech

After Macfrut and Agrilevante, ARRIGONI will take part in MOLDAGROTECH (23rd-26th October, Chisinau, Moldavia) with the objective of spreading its experience in the manufacturing of climatic and biological control netting.

Arrigoni mainly works in four important sectors:

Agrotextiles represents the 70% of the total production. They are high tenacity and long-lasting nets and fabrics for climatic and biological control as well as for other purposes such as anti-bird nets, protection against hail, wind, sun and frost, anti-insect nets, supporting nets, mulching films and non-woven fleece. City garden completes the range in addition to the products for the professional sector.

Hail causes the depreciation or the loss of the entire production (photo below left), whereas the latter damages branches and causes branch cancer (photo below right), through which fungus, bacteria and other pathogens can penetrate plants.

Secondary damage means orchards age quicker. Nets for the protection against hail are currently the only way we have to safeguard our plants from nature’s little trick.

Arrigoni's managers say: "The monofilament we use for our nets is totally manufactured by us from high-density virgin polyethylene granules. Thanks to the constant checks during the various production phases, we developed quite an experience in the anti-hail sector for table grape vineyards, which we have then transferred to orchards."

There are three types of hail-protection nets for vineyards in Arrigoni's catalogue: 3140 FRUCTUS 2.6/4 – 3145 FRUCTUS 4/4 – 3150 FRUCTUS 5/4.

They are leno weaving nets with different weights and hole dimensions. Choosing one or the other one depends on agronomic or weathering factors that must be always considered: for example, if there is also the need to protect plants from sun, FRUCTUS 5/4 netting must be used because the holes are smaller.

Other hail-protection nets are 3112 FRUCUS 2.2/3.2 - 3113 FRUCTUS 2.2/3.2 EXTRA - FRUCTUS 2.6/3, which are specifically created for orchards.

Technical data of anti-hail protection nets for orchards and therefore apple orchards:

3112 FRUCTUS 2.2/3.2

3113 FRUCTUS 2.2/3.2 EXTRAAnti-hail with 8.0 x 2.8 mm holes. Black colour. Weight: 50 g/m2
FRUCTUS 2.6/3Anti-hail with 7.1 x 3 mm holes. Black colour. Weight: 47 g/m2
