The Nashi Trybeca pear a product in evolution

The year 2013 is almost to an end, but not the campaign of Nashi Trybeca.

As the company Trybeca of Centallo (CN) explained: "Last season we had a warm autumn, so people wanted something fresh, crisp and pleasantly sweet, in short, a great product like an Asian quality pear."

"The production was lower than the current year, and the sale season finished at the beginning of the year, giving us lots of satisfaction, especially thanks to several e-mails of appreciation sent by our consumers.”

The current season of Nashi Trybeca was delayed by a cold and rainy autumn, with a delay in the harvest of a month: “but the sales continue and are going well in general - reported the firm – Furthermore, this year, a new market opened for us, Israel, and this is an opportunity for us to promote the product in other markets."

"Here in Italy, we’re very happy to receive so many e-mails from people asking where they can find the Nashi Trybeca pear, people who bought the product for a long time and now would like to continue buying it, or people who have tasted, enjoyed and would like to buy it again, and we’re not always able to point out where to go.”

The production of Nashi Trybeca is greater this year, "but we will have to wait until next year to reach volumes which could allow us to get a little bit outside of the niche. Fortunately, we have partners on the domestic market who believe in our product and work with us on distribution, but it is still too limited and reaches only the major markets, which doesn't even happen every time."

A step forward was taken this year, thanks to the fact that the Coop supermarkets have started to put our pear inside packages of 4 small pieces of fruit, “and this was for us another step forward – underlined the business managers - also thanks to the work of Nicolò Rinaldi of Fruttital. In Piemonte, our partner, Romaisio, continues to attend the major fair and markets where the consumer can be directly approached”.

Trybeca has recently updated its website, including a mode of direct contact for those who want it. Also, every week it will published recipes and news about the Nashi Trybeca pear.

The managers concluded: “In short, we still have a lot to do since we need to improve on our know-how, which we have acquired over 25 years of “trial and error”, going against the prejudice within the non-Asiatic fruit compartment. After years of hard work and great investment for a small company like ours, we are gradually reaching our goals, and the greatest satisfaction is when someone writes to us and says, “your apple-pear is very good, where can I find it?” Obviously, we reiterate that the apple-pear doesn’t exist and that we’re talking about an Asian pear. Anyway, we thank everyone who writes to us.”
