Germany: Apple prices rising

In Germany during week 2 there were plenty of apples available from their own country. Amounts of Elstar, Jonagold, Braeburn and Boskoop mostly came from their own country and the largest amounts of Golden Delicious, Granny Smith and Pink Lady came from Italy. France supplied Jazz and Granny Smith and The Netherlands Cox and Jonagold varieties. Overall demand was generally steady. Prices compared to last year in week 2 for Braeburn, Granny Smith, Red Delicious and Royal Gala showed prices were higher. Comparison of recent weeks also showed that most varieties were slowly rising.
