Dominican Republic to continue promoting tropical fruit production

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Dominican Republic announced the upcoming implementation of several projects, including one for the promotion of tropical fruit production, in order to improve the competitiveness levels of Dominican agriculture.

The minister, Luis Ramón Rodríguez, reminded that the sector's exports broke the 1,000 million dollar barrier in 2013, and explained that the Dominican Republic has plenty of growth potential in the production of tropical fruit, given the international levels of demand for such products.

Rodríguez also mentioned the more than 31,000 pesos in funding that the sector received last year.
