Greek traders to absorb peach production intended for Russia
According to statements from fruit and vegetable traders at Athens' Central Market, large volumes of Greek peaches originally intended to be exported to Russia will end up in the domestic market, with the best possible prices for consumers, but also favourable conditions for producers affected by the Russian embargo.
"The Central Vegetable Market of Athens," stressed the announcement, "it has always supported Greek producers in times of crisis, contributing to the movement of agricultural products under fair conditions of healthy competition."
"Agricultural products (especially peaches) intended for the Russian market have been inspected and are of excellent quality. This fruit will be used to cover the country's summer demand."
"Traders at the Central Vegetable Market of Athens are always on the side of Greek producers, helping them tackle the effects of the crisis and boosting domestic market sales with safe, quality products at favourable prices both for the retailer and the consumer."
