Turkey: Watermelons and tomatoes, the most consumed in Ankara

According to data from Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, watermelon, as in previous years, was the most consumed fruit during the months of June and July, with wholesale market sales totalling 144,882 tonnes.

After watermelon, the second most consumed fruit was melon, with a total of 11,660 tonnes in sales, and the third were peaches, with 11,285 tonnes.

The other most consumed fruits are cherries, in fourth place with 10,537 tonnes, and plums, which reached the fifth place with a total of 9,389 tonnes of sales.
