Mediterranean fruit fly discovered in Fujian Port

The Inspection and Quarantine Bureau of the port of Fujian has discovered the Mediterranean fruit fly in 2 boxes containing 28 cactus fruits during the National Holiday week. The boxes were being brought in by a tourist from Hong Kong.

This is the second time in the last two months that the Mediterranean fruit fly has been discovered in Fujian port.

It is forbidden to bring fruit and vegetables into China without having obtained the relevant permits.
