Fourth annual Agri's Got Talent contest to be held in South Africa

The contest which is presented by HORTGRO, the VinPro Foundation and the Western Cape Department of Agriculture, gives agricultural workers with musical talent the opportunity to rise above their everyday work.
Unathi Mantshongo, VinPro’s transformation and development officer, says they support AGT because it creates an environment where people’s talents are nurtured and celebrated.
“AGT is a reminder to all agri-workers that if you can conquer your fears and sing your heart out with confidence to a crowd of 500 people, then perhaps you can conquer other difficulties in your life.”
Anyone who can sing, and is 18 years or older, and has been working on a farm, in a pack house or cellar for at least three consecutive months in the past 12 months can enter. The project consists of a selection process, a week of training in singing and life skills for the top 10 finalists, as well as a gala event during which a team of judges appoint the winner. The winner receives a cash prize and stands the chance to perform at agricultural events.
You may only enter if you are an agricultural worker in one of the following industries: apple, pear, plum, peach, nectarine, apricots, wine grapes, pomegranate, raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, cherry, dried fruit, honeybush tea, table grapes, fynbos or olives.
