Lunys deals in the importation, distribution and the packing of various fresh fruits and vegetables in Slovakia. In the past, the company usually dealt with cucumber, tomato, citrus fruits, banana and apple producers, which are the staple fruits and vegetables in the country. But in recent years they’ve seen high demand for various exotic fruits and vegetables, such as avocado and mango, which they've added to their roster.
Slovakia gets its fresh produce from suppliers all over the Europe – its main partners still remain the traditional export countries like: Spain, Italy, Holland and the neighbouring countries of Slovakia. To meet an evolving demand and to be the leading trendsetter, it is important to look for new countries and new suppliers to do business with. “We are looking for new partners to do business with. Right now we are looking at bolstering our ties with Greece and Turkey – especially because of our country’s gap in trade with them. We are looking to import citrus fruits, cucumbers, tomatoes and white capsicums because this is what we find to be interesting items to import from those countries. Our company has no strong and reliable partner in Greece yet,” Serafin concluded.
