Pointed peppers exported from Hunan to Canada
150 large trucks with Pointed peppers are currently on their way from Luxi County, Hunan, to Shanghai where their cargo will be shipped to Vancouver, Canada. This shipment opens the door for export of agricultural by-products from Luxi County to overseas markets in 2018.
The Pointed peppers of Luxi County have a long history. They are rich in vitamin C, and their color is glowing red. Their fragrance is strong and their taste is good. They receive a warm welcome from consumers far and wide. The Pointed pepper is one of Hunan's most important export peppers. Luxi County currently has a surface area of 3,333 hectares devoted to the production of Pointed peppers. The annual production volume is more than 70 million kg with an annual production value of more than 180 million yuan [28.5 million USD]. The Pointed pepper production brings together more than 60 thousand farmers.
