Del Monte signs agreement with Reefer Terminal in Vado Ligure

Reefer Terminal S.p.A., the company controlled by APM Terminals which manages port facilities dedicated to fruit and vegetables and their handling, and Del Monte have signed a cooperation agreement.

Under the agreement, bananas and pineapples, coming from Latin American countries, will arrive in Vado aboard container ships.

The Vado Ligure reefer terminal is the largest refrigerated port terminal in the Mediterranean, with 50,000 m3 of space dedicated to the landing and storage of fruit and vegetables.

“The agreement reached with a leading company like Del Monte confirms the quality of the services that our terminal can provide, thanks to the know-how and experience acquired over the years, which in fact make the port of Vado one of the main hubs in the fresh produce sector with further and interesting development prospects”, said Paolo Cornetto, managing director of APM Terminals S.p.a.

Portseurope.com quoted Stefano Polidori, Commercial Director of Del Monte Italia as saying:“We are convinced that the cooperation with Reefer Terminal will strengthen our position in northern Italy and will open us to new partnerships in the area. We could not be happier to investigate new business opportunities that allow us to always offer the best to our customers.”
