They come from the Neusiedler See - Seewinkel region, where organic farmer Erwin Binder developed the twelve different varieties according to the the strict Ja! Natürlich organic farming guidelines. They are grown on healthy soil and without the use of chemical-synthetic pesticides or artificial fertilizers.
The rarities available have names like "Lemon", "Miniature White", "Ameliore Bourbonne" or "Arola". However, their uniqueness is not only reflected in the naming; their extravagant shapes, colours and flavours provide a great deal of variety on people's plates. "Our rarities not only ensure diversity in varieties, but also provide enjoyment at for very special moments. We are extremely pleased to be able to launch the start of the Austrian vegetable season with our range of rarities, hoping for a long and fruitful cucumber season," says Martina Hörmer, Managing Director of Ja! Natürlich. The Ja! Natürlich cucumber-rarities can be found in selected MERKUR stores until the end of August for €2.99.
