FCS: Russia increased citrus import by 12.2%

In the first half of 2018, Russia increased the import of citrus fruits by 12.2%, according to customs statistics (FCS) for January-June 2018.

In general, the share of imports of food products and raw materials for their production during the reporting period slightly decreased from 13.6% last year to 13.0%. Of the total volume of goods imported from non-CIS countries, food imports account for 11.9% (-0.4% compared to the same period in 2017), for the CIS countries (Former Soviet Union countries), the share of food imports in the total volume is 21.7% (-1.4%).

The cost and physical volumes of exports of food products and raw materials for their production for the first half of this year increased by 28.7% and 43.0% respectively. The total share of exports of this category amounted to 5.3% (+0.1%)

According to statistics, Russia's foreign trade turnover amounted to $330.6 billion and increased by 21.6% compared to January-June 2017. The trade balance was positive at $98.0 billion, which is $31.0 billion more than in January-June 2017.

Exports totaled $214.3 billion (+26.5%). The share of foreign countries accounted for 87.8% of total exports, for the CIS - 12.2%. Import for the reporting period is $ 116.3 billion (+ 13.6%). The share of foreign countries accounted for 88.9% of total imports, for CIS countries - 11.1%.
