US organic cranberry is at peak supply for holidays

Naturipe Farms announced that fresh organic cranberries are in peak supply in Wisconsin, now and through the third week of December, which the company says will offer promotion opportunities at retail for the upcoming holidays.

“Harvest is about 70 percent complete on organic cranberries and outside of a cold snap a few weeks ago, the weather has been perfect,” says Brian Vertrees, Director of Business Development. “The cooler temperatures have brought on great color this year and we are really excited about the quality available for the Thanksgiving shipping period.”

“Volumes are up from last year, offering retailers many opportunities to promote organic cranberries and surpass 2017 sales,” says Vertrees. With organic demand and purchasing on the rise, production has significantly increased over prior years for Naturipe.

With this increase of promotable supply, Naturipe suggests that retailers plan accordingly by offering both organic and conventional displays. This year Naturipe’s is offering a 24x12oz bag option to increase cranberry consumption.
