Export of Greek watermelons starts soon

Mitrosilis will soon start their exports of the watermelons for this season. Their clients, who are mostly large supermarkets, have a demand for top quality products and a reliable collaboration, and Mitrosilis is willing to fulfil this demand.

According to Nikos Katsaloulis, sales manager for Mitrosilis, Greek watermelons are a very popular fruit. "They are juicy and tasteful. Very nutritious and rich in fiber, vitamins and trace elements, yet poor poor in calories. These watermelons are the best and most beneficiary source of hydration when the temperature starts soaring."

The season this year is going to start a little bit later than expected, because of the weather conditions in Greece. "This isn't necessarily a bad thing, if you take the cold weather across Europe into consideration. With colder weather, the demand for 'summer' fruits such as watermelons is always a tad lower." Katsaloulis explains.

Always keeping the quality bar high, the company is ready to start exports of the first watermelons the forthcoming weekend.

Mitrosilis SA is exporting to 26 countries mainly direct to supermarkets in Europe, but also all over the rest of the world. "Beside that we export to China, Hong Kong, Dubai, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, India, Indonesia, Colombia, USA, Canada, Mauritius, Tunisia and Maldives. Our constant investment in new machinery and well-trained personnel ensures total quality and satisfaction of even the most demanding standards established in the EU." Katsaloulis concludes.
