Peach production volume in Hubei, China, slightly smaller this year

The Chinese production season of stone fruits has already started. Hubei produces large volumes of peaches every year. Peaches are extremely delicate products and the peach harvest requires careful attention. Some production areas suffered from heavy rains this year, so some of the peaches fell from the trees because of the rainfall. This is unfortunate because the production volume had already declined this year.

Mr. Zhang, a domestic fruit trader, explained: "The peach production volume in Hubei slightly declined this year in comparison with previous years. The decline in production volume stems from insufficient rainfall and drought. The overall production volume is usually very high. The production volume of open-field peaches is relatively small this year, but the production volume of glasshouse peaches was not really affected by the weather."

"The price is higher this year because the production volume declined. The size of the peaches is also slightly smaller than last year. This is the result of drought during the growth season. The flavor is still delicious as always. We currently sell our peaches in Hebei markets."
