The production season of small red apricots has kicked off in China, and fruit from various production areas are entering the market in large volumes. “From June 25th, a large number of small red apricots have entered the market. This year, the supply period is longer compared with previous years, although the season started later. It is expected that the current season will last until the beginning of August, and the production will reach about 500 tons,” said Peng Zhang from Jinan So Sweet Agricultural Development Co., Ltd.
Once fully ripe, the brix level of the apricots can reach 25 to 30 degrees, fetching good market prices. As Mr. Zhang explained, So Sweet is committed to “producing a better national fruit!" Therefore, the taste is an important part of their products, which is one of the reasons why they chose “So Sweet” as their brand name.
In addition to apricots, they also market high brix level passion fruit from Hainan, Guangxi, and Fujian, and Tunisian soft-seed pomegranate from Sichuan. “Our small red apricots are mainly sold to East China, as the fruit market here is more developed compared to other regions. In this market, consumers are more willing to pay a premium for quality, and they also pay more attention to quality brands. While focusing on developing the East China market, we are also expanding into North China, South China, and Central China. We focus on the quality and sweetness of our fruit, and market them under our own brand, with the goal of building a strong and stable market image."
In an effort to build and maintain their brand image, So Sweet has organized a number of promotional events. "We have organized a lot of marketing events to raise the popularity of our fruit among our consumers. For example, we organized events in wholesale markets, where people could taste our fruits and experience their uniqueness first hand. At the same time, we also tried to establish direct contact with consumers. For example, they can participate in a short test on WeChat to choose their favorite fruit packaging. When they make a choice, the app will tell them some interesting facts about the packages they chose, and the personality traits that their choices indicate. It's fun, simple, and fast, and it also gives us an idea of what kind of packaging people want."
So Sweet was established this year, but it’s built on years of experience in the fruit business, as it is built on the foundation of another long-established fruit company. As a result, So Sweet has a very professional team and has so far delivered their fruit through multiple channels, online and offline, across China.
