“Breeze, one of New Zealand's earliest apple varieties, is very attractive with its red skin and sweet and crisp taste, all thanks to New Zealand's fertile soil and warm climate. Breeze apples from New Zealand arrive in Hong Kong in February, at a time when most imported apples are not available in China, and its production season can last through to the end of May, conveniently filling the market gap,” says Fion of Shenzhen Yuanxing Fruit Co Ltd.
“Looking back at the 2019 season, Breeze apples were very popular among consumers, fetching stable prices and experiencing strong sales growth. This is partly due to the fact that this variety is the first apple variety from New Zealand to enter the Chinese market and has attracted high market acceptance and recognition. On the other hand, as China’s apple production last season was significantly lower, prices soared, creating additional sales space for imported apples including Breeze. Later on, apples from countries like South Africa and Chile also became available, but Breeze has been more popular thanks to its unique taste."
“Production last season was stable, but there were more small-sized fruit. Fortunately, sales were not affected by this, as the needs of consumers have been changing and they no longer only prefer big-sized fruit. In the coming season, production is expected to increase further, and quality is expected to remain stable."
“Yuanxing has been promoting Breeze in wholesale markets and supermarkets for several years. Feedback shows that the market prospect of this variety is very optimistic. During the upcoming Asia Fruit Logistica in Hong Kong, Yuanxing and our partner Frescho will carry out a promotional campaign for Breeze 's upcoming 2020 season. Our goal is to jointly drive and improve sales, and provide consumers with better Breeze apples. We welcome you to meet us at stand 3C-3N20 and attend our presentation session regarding Breeze in the 202-203 Conference Hall (16:00-18:00 September 4, 2019).”
