Shiitake mushroom farm on Hungarian Ukraine border opens for business

Nature Green (NG), an exotic mushroom start-up, sees the combination of talent and passion from a dedicated group of fruit producers, exotic mushroom specialists, and private equity superfood enthusiasts. NG finally opens its doors for business after two years of planning, construction, development and ensuring consistent quality of the harvest.

Nestled in the foothills of the Carpathian mountains, the NG farm uses fresh spring water and only organic ingredients to fruit its Shiitake mushrooms for both local and international markets. Although Shiitake is the key focus, NG intends to cultivate Pom Pom (Lion’s Mane), Shimeji, King Oyster, and other exotics to satisfy client demands.

Peter Sutherland, head of sales for NG, explains that the farm, which has the capacity to produce over 200 tons of high-quality Shiitake per month, was conceived to create local jobs, to publicize the incredible yet little known health benefits of the Shiitake and other exotic mushrooms, and importantly to make it more affordable and accessible to the public.
