Mexican avocado conquers the Super Bowl

The Association of Mexican Avocado Producers, Packers, and Exporters (Apeam) expects Mexico to sell more than 120,000 tons of avocado to the United States for the Super Bowl 2020, based on the 20% growth rate recorded in previous years.

"During week 3 of this year, we broke the export record achieved by the same date last season, after shipping 33,814 tons to the Super Bowl," the organization stated, ensuring that by shipping 22,000 tons of avocados per week, producers and packers will be able to supply the demand generated before, during, and after the Super Bowl edition.

Currently, Mexico is making more than 1,400 weekly shipments to the US, which is equivalent to a truck departing every six minutes from Michoacan to the United States. For the Mexican state, this fruit represents 84% of its exports.
