The German wild garlic season started last week. On Thursday, the first regional greenhouse products arrived at the South German specialist retailers, earlier than ever before. Nonetheless, the demand is already astonishing, according to the retail trade Gittler in Göppingen. "The daily amount is already sold out again today."

"This year, wild garlic is available very much earlier again. It looks like it is spring, even though it is only February," says the owner of the specialist retail trade. Despite the early start of the season, the quality of the greenhouse products is already very good, as is the demand from customers. "As soon as the first sunshine arrives, people feel like buying fresh produce. We can already tell."
