The outbreak of COVID-19 created a sense of community among the countries that "battle" the virus. Many fruit companies across the world worked closely together to support the people on the front line. Pagoda recently made an announcement concerning donations to Wuhan during the 80 day period between the imposition of quarantine measures and the day that the quarantine was lifted. Pagoda worked together with 30 fruit companies in New Zealand, Chile, and China to support the people in Wuhan through donations.
The announcement details how Pagoda participated in 53 donations during the 80 day period. The company donated fruit with a total value of 5.76 million yuan [810 thousand USD]. The fruit came from New Zealand, Chile, and 14 provinces in China and involved cooperation with famous fruit brands.
Pagoda took the lead and their donations attracted the attention of other companies. People followed the example of Pagoda and began to support the front line workers with fruit donations. Even more, people paid attention to the most disadvantaged groups in society and supported them to the best of their ability. Everybody worked together to make it through these difficult times.
More details are available in the original announcement (Chinese).
