"But with good quality"

"Production of cherries from Yantai, China, much lower"

“Due to frequent natural disasters, the production of open-field cherries from Yantai this season has been significantly reduced compared with the last. In some growing centers, production has reduced by as high as 80%. Fortunately, the quality of the remaining production is good,” Liu Wenpo, Chairman of Beijing Runfuyuan Trading Co., Ltd., said.

Farmers sorting freshly harvested cherries

“It has been a difficult year for the sales of many fruits, and cherries from Yantai is no different. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has been ongoing since the Spring Festival, consumers’ purchasing power has generally declined. At the same time, there are large volumes of fruit on the market to meet an urgent need, so buyers have more choices. Compared with the same period last year, the current price of cherries from Yantai has dropped by about 20%."

Cherries from Yantai

“Currently, cherries from Yantai are being harvested and marketed. We directly ship to major supermarkets across China to reduce intermediate links and save costs, in order to benefit consumers."
