Fries are among the world’s most famous foods. The nations of both France and Belgium are of course claiming that they invented the infamous french fry. French fries are eaten in a variety of ways in countries across the world, with preparation methods, toppings and condiments differing – further emphasising just how versatile potatoes can be.
In the Netherlands, they go all-out with the so-called 'Patatje Oorlog', french fries with mayonnaise as a topping and… a thick peanut sauce and diced raw onions added to the mix.
