In 2017, 27,4 million tons of pineapples were produced worldwide. Costa Rica was the largest producer, with more than three million tons. The Philippines, Brazil, and Thailand follow it. In the 20th century, Hawaïi was a dominant pineapple producer, mainly for the US. In 2017, Costa Rica, Brazil, and the Philippines were good for almost 30% of the global pineapple production.
