Modern harvesting machines have simplified the process of carrot picking. Toplift harvesters pull the carrots out of the ground swiftly and with minimal effort. The machines optimize harvest times, and multiple rows of the carrot crop can be harvested at a time.
As the machine is tracked across the fields, it grabs the carrots by their stems and pulls the whole carrots out of the ground. These machines often have paddle wheels which help to remove excess dirt from the carrots after they are pulled out of the ground.
