California is the largest almond producing region in the world, and right now the trees are in full bloom. The trees have just come out of a period of dormancy, which lasts from November through January. During this time, the trees undergo the regular process of losing their leaves for winter. Then, starting in mid-February and lasting through mid-March, the trees fill up with pink and white blooms.

While the trees are blooming and preparing for the next harvest, the almond growers are not sitting idle. According to the California Almond Board, there have already been 135.53 million export shipments and 58.76 million domestic shipments this month. In 2020, the total crop receipts tallied up to 3.03 billion.
The almond harvest will run from August through October.
