While other parts of the country embrace fall's cooler temperatures, Progressive Produce is entering its prime growing season for its extensive California-grown citrus program which includes organic navels, lemons and grapefruit.
Progressive is expanding its organic heirloom navel program this season and will have the capacity to ship larger volumes of organic heirloom navels from mid-December to the beginning of March.
"Our organic navels are grown in the southern San Joaquin Valley and typically are some of the first to be harvested and packed. We will start packing organic navels the last week of October and continue the season into early spring," said Andy Webb, director of sales and business development. "Reach out to our sales team to ensure you get in on the first pack of the season!"
Organic grapefruit will be available from the beginning of November and organic lemons will be available from the start of December. Promotional opportunities are available throughout the season on both bulk and bagged fruit.

Progressive is also excited to to launch its expanded organic heirloom navel program. "This is a unique item for Progressive. We have the capacity to ship larger volumes of organic heirloom navels from mid-December to the beginning of March," said Christine Toy, sales manager.
Progressive’s organic heirloom navels are an old-line Washington variety grown on 100-year-old trees by a third-generation family farm in Bakersfield, CA. The perfectly sweet and delicious organic heirloom navels will be packed in three-lb. bags, with bulk sizes also available.

Be on the lookout as well for Progressive’s updated packaging. Its Nature's Bounty Organic brand features an appealing, high-graphic design that's great for merchandising and grabbing consumers' attention.
"Keeping a consistent display of organic citrus in bulk and bags and promoting the high Vitamin C content and health benefits provides an ideal environment for reaching out to consumers," said Webb. "Additionally, advertising organic citrus with other organic items can also improve sales of the entire category."
